Challenge

31st January 2020, Brexit Day. Marked with celebrations up and down the country and a commemorative 50p. Great if you’re a Brexit supporter, if you aren’t, not so much. But how could we give anyone who wanted too, an opportunity to share a message of appreciation for the EU on the day we officially left for good? Especially when all everyone is talking about is a poorly designed 50 pence piece.

Solution

Well, we took that 50p and we flipped it. We gave Twitter users the opportunity to share a message for the EU using #BrexitCoinFlip and in return, we sent them their message back on their very own commemorative coin. Sure, we got some backlash from the Brexit brigade, but we dealt with that in the most mature way possible; by sending every message they sent to us back to them on the back of a coin (much to their frustration).
